Sergio Adams wins primary night.

After counting absentee ballots, Sergio Adams maintained a lead over Violetta DeRosa, 253 to 240 votes. Former county legislator Brian Scavo had 55 votes. The Albany County Board of Elections will do a manual recount because the margin between Adams and DeRosa is so narrow.

"The people have voted and they chose me to represent the 7th Ward," he said. "I feel confident even after a recount that the results will be the same. That is why getting out to vote is vital in local elections. Every vote matters and can be the deciding factor."
